The Demographic package
OpenCity Italia’s “Demographic” package digitizes the municipality’s demographic, registry, civil status, cemetery and electoral services, making them accessible to citizens simply and intuitively directly online, even from smartphones.
All services are built in compliance with regulations and technical rules for digital service development as required by the CAD and the three-year plan for IT in public administration. They were designed following the method codified by Designers Italia and user interfaces are based on the public administration Design System.

How the services work
Each OpenCity service is designed to ensure the best usability for citizens, who can activate services easily even from smartphones, and for public officials, who can manage applications simply by connecting to the platform, even while working remotely.
Data management is oriented to guarantee privacy and implement the once only principle, avoiding users having to enter already available data and allowing the authority to obtain certified data through PDND, without the need for further checks.
Services include:
- Secure access via SPID, CIE (new Open ID Connect protocol) and eIDAS for European citizens
- Automatic acquisition via PDND of certified data: residence, ISEE, family status, citizenship, vehicles, digital domicile
- Workflow automation: protocol registration, payments, notifications
- Notifications at all stages of the procedure, including via the IO app
