The National Digital Data Platform (PDND) is the national infrastructure that allows public administrations to share data and services in a secure and standardized way, concretely applying the once only principle: citizens no longer have to provide information that the public administration is already able to retrieve on its own.
OpenCity Italia integrates PDND to allow local authorities to access other authorities’ data in a controlled and traceable manner, automatically verify the conditions for accessing services (income, residence, family status, etc.), and cross-reference the necessary information without requiring paper documentation from the citizen.
Thanks to this integration, the digital service delivery flows become faster and more effective, reducing administrative burdens for both offices and end users.

OpenCity Italia’s integration with PDND is based on the authentication and authorization protocol defined by the platform, which involves the use of secure vouchers (OAuth 2.0 tokens) for each API call between authorities. OpenCity Italia manages the lifecycle of authorizations, the tracking of data accesses, and the registration of e-services exposed or consumed by the authority.
In this way, the authority can both provide its data to other authorities through certified APIs, and consume data from other authorities (INPS, Revenue Agency, National Registry, etc.) to automate the checks required for the delivery of its digital services.
